Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and/or Day Care Flexible Spending Accounts (DCFSA), allow employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for expenses not covered by health insurance (i.e. copayments, deductibles, prescriptions) and/or day care expenses for children 12 and under. Employees do not have to enroll in any other medical plan to participate in flexible spending. Navia Benefits Solutions is the third-party administrator for these accounts.
- New employees, or those with a qualifying life event have the opportunity to enroll. Otherwise, they must wait until the next open enrollment period. Enrollment in an FSA takes place on an annual basis and does not carry over from year to year.
- You may not make any changes to your FSA during the year unless you have a qualifying family status change (e.g. marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, etc.).
- For FY25, there is an FSA minimum of $32.40 per plan year and a maximum of $3,200 per plan year.
- For those enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), they also have the option to enroll in a Limited Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
